FMLA-Like Leave
Allows eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave to care for a seriously ill domestic partner or seriously ill child of a domestic partner. Eligibility requirements are the same as those for FMLA.
Medical/Illness/Accident Leave (Non-FMLA):
For those employees not eligible for FMLA leave whose non-work-related health condition requires absence from work.
Birth/Placement/Adoption Leave (Non-FMLA):
For employees, not eligible for FMLA leave, who need to care for a child following the child's birth, adoption, or placement in the home following adoption or foster care.
Military Leave:
Leave for employee enlistments or inductions into the United States Armed Forces or Military Reservists called to active duty.
Temporary Unit Closing:
For use by employees whose units have closed for a specific period. Closure may be due to a seasonal closing, such as a school food service unit during a summer or holiday recess, the renovation of either all or a portion of an operating unit, or any other reason the unit is not operational for a limited time.
Personal Leave:
Leave for use in instances of personal emergency or extenuating circumstances that do not fall under any of the above categories. This leave will be granted on a case-by-case basis based upon business needs.
Leave for Work-Related Illness or Injury
(Workers' Compensation)
For those employees not eligible for FMLA leave who suffer from a work-related illness or injury that requires absence from work.
Workers' compensation is a benefit provided to all employees who sustain a qualifying job-related injury or illness. If you are injured on the job, you are required to notify your manager immediately. Failure to do so may result in constructive counseling, up to and including termination. Sodexo prohibits retaliation against any employee for filing a workers' compensation claim.
Potential workers' compensation benefits include payments for related medical expenses and/or income replacement. State law determines the type and level of benefits available; therefore, the amount, duration, and reporting requirements vary from state to state.
