STOP Hunger

Nobody should ever go hungry

Because we work in food service, we think we should help make a hunger-free country.  That is the goal of our Sodexo Foundation and our STOP Hunger program. Started in 1999, the Sodexo Foundation has raised more than $9.2 million to fight hunger. All donations go toward programs that fight hunger and break the cycle of poverty in the United States.

The Sodexo Foundation also works to fight the causes of hunger in America.  We need to do more than just feed people. We need to give them skills and information so they can make better lives for themselves and their families.

The Community Kitchen® program trains adults in basic kitchen skills to serve meals to people in need. The Campus Kitchens ProjectSM teams college students with Sodexo services to recycle extra food, prepare and deliver meals to people in need, and provide job training for unemployed adults. And because we know how important education is to ending poverty and hunger, we work with JumpstartSM, a group that works with children on school skills.

Our employees play a very important role in our hunger-relief efforts.   During Sodexo Servathon, held every April, employees join forces to raise money, donate food, and serve meals in their local communities.
At our most recent event, more than 33,000 of our employees participated. We donated more than 100 tons of food and served 50,000 meals to hungry men, women, and children.
